With the D|vide model, Source introduced a new type of hydration pack with two seperate compartments and two tubes, making it possible to have two drinks available at the same time, for example an isotonic sports drink and clear water. We tested the two liter model.

The idea is both simple and elegant: A flexible divider creates two separate compartments with an extra tube-connector for each of them. The size of the compartments is flexible and just adds up to the full capacity of the bladder – in our case 2l, a 3l-model is available too.

A flexible divider in the bladder enables you, to take different drinks with you in one bladder.

The Source D|vide bladder has all the features of the other bladders from this manufacturer: The inside of the bladder is taste-free and anti-bacterial to keep your drinks fresh for days. The big opening makes cleaning pretty easy. Both tube-connectors only let fluids flow, when a tube is connected.

Colored tubes ensure, you don't get confused by the options.

The Source D|vide bladder performed well during every-day use. No leaking at seals or the tube-connectors, the mouthpieces worked well and provided enough waterstream. Opening and Closing a new bladder wasn’t that smooth, but it got much better after using it for a while. Cleaning the D|vide isn’t more or less of an issue than a normal, single-compartment bladder. In most hydration packs, routing the second tube is no problem.

The Source D|vide is an high-quality, well-made product, the only remaining question is: Do we really need a second compartment? At the beginning, we were skeptical, but during the test we quickly got used to the advantages. Chasing that sugar-sweet isotonic mix down with a sip of water? Check. Refilling you half-empty bladder without diluting the isotonic drink? Check! But is it worth the extra tube (and money)? It can be, depending on your riding style.

The Source D|vide hydration system is available for 44 Euro in a two and a 3 liter model. For more information check sourceoutdoor.com.
